Technical Project Manager

A Technical Project Manager is a high level leader and facilitator who oversees the work and deliverables of functional groups and outsource partners on a Project/Programme. The ideal candidate will have a solid experience in delivering complex infrastructure solutions. He/she will have managed technical projects, created technical requirements and worked directly with technical resources - both internal staff and vendors to ensure a successful technical deliverable. He/she will engage with multiple projects related to infrastructure provisioning to suit various business needs while acting as an intermediary between business, project management and technical resources.

Technical skill set;


Solution Design
- Deliver solution design briefs based on pre-approved technology templates
- Resolve design related issues in collaboration with TA, technical towers and business

Systems Awareness
- Ability to specify requirements, follow up with relevant technicians, paricipate in troubleshooting if needed
- Operating Systems - Windows and Unix (any is a plus)
- MS Windows and SQL Clusters, clustered IIS/ASP, etc
- Unix Clusters (Veritas based)

Network Awareness (general)
- Ability to specify firewall / network requirements and follow up with Network Tower
- Cisco Switches / VLANs, etc
- PIX/Checkpoint Firewalls
- Cisco Content Switches

Datacentre operation
- Understanding datacentre principles, i.e. racking, power, patching
- Ability to deal with technical resources

Storage concepts
- SAN Concepts (ability to work with requirements, speak same language)
- Network Backup concepts.
