Senior Software Java Developer

An experienced software developer is required to join my clients development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working within the development team on the company's product suite and on client development projects.

Requirements
Knowledge and proven experience in the majority of the following technical areas:

Experience with recognised software development lifecycle methodologies and coding standards.
J2EE, Java, J2SE, Servlets, JSPs, Threads, JDBC
UML, Java design patterns
Experience with markup languages XML, WML, HTML etc.
Database Design- SQL (ideally will have knowledge of IBM DB2).
Application server experience (Tomcat/JBoss).
Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment is essential.
Experience working with Cvs, Ant, JUnit
Experience working at all stages of the project lifecycle. Particularly requirements gathering, and application architecture and design.
Familiarity with GSM networks, and related standards as well as knowledge of SMS, WAP and MMS would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:
Working within the development team developing new mobile solution applications and enhancing existing applications
Involvement in internal and external projects through requirements gathering, application architecture and design, implementation and testing

The Individual:
You will have 5+yrs in a senior engineering role with 3+yrs experience in design & development of enterprise solutions.
Excellent J2EE skills essential
Proven track record in a technically challenging development environment
Computer Science or IT Degree or equivalent 3rd Level Education
Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines within a pressurised environment
Excellent communication & organisational skills, ability to communicate at all business levels with internal and external customers
Uses own initiative to identify areas for improvement and find solutions to problems presented.
